The West Geauga Girls Soccer team defeated Lake Catholic 5-3 on the road on Wednesday afternoon to improve to 3-0-1 on the season.
The Wolverines fell behind 1-0 in the opening five minutes of the game before Frankee Flesher scored off a Megan McGinnis pass to even the match 1-1.
Flesher returned the favor and connected with McGinnis who scored to make it 2-1. The Cougars responded with a goal late in the first half to tie the game 2-2.
West Geauga took the lead in the final minute of the half on the second goal of the night by McGinnis on a pass from Natalie Pistone.
Lake Catholic started the scoring in the second half to even the game 3-3 before Pistone finished a pass from Flesher to make it 4-3. Flesher added an insurance goal in the final two minutes on a pass from Holly Jeunnette to make it 5-3.
The Wolverines will travel to Bay Village on Saturday night to take on the Rockets at 5:00 PM (JV) and varsity to follow at 7:00pm.
