The West Geauga Volleyball team opened the home portion of its schedule with a thrilling five-set win over visiting Geneva on Tuesday night.
The Wolverines took the first two sets 25-19 and 26-24 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Eagles responded with wins in the third and fourth sets (25-23, 25-12) to force a fifth and deciding set.
West Geauga jumped out to a 6-1 advantage in the fifth set and went onto to claim the deciding set 15-8.
The Wolverines were paced by Kaitlyn Danszczak who had a match-high 16 kills and added 13 digs while Molly Widmar and Kayla Herbst each added nine.
Malory Lear finished with a double-double with 27 assists and 13 digs. Grace Laster added a team-best 21 digs.
West Geauga will be home again on Thursday when they host Chargin Falls starting at 4:00pm.
