The West Geauga Boys Soccer team opened the 2023 season with a convincing 8-0 win at home over Geneva.

The Wolverines scored the first goal of the game eight minutes into the contest when Ben Mackin finished a pass from Martin Medancic to make it 1-0. Mackin followed the goal with an assist to Nathan Kercher to make it 2-0.

Frankie Sassano picked up back-to-back scores within five minutes on a pass from Medancic and another from Kercher to make it 4-0 at the break.

Mackin added a second goal in the second half while Medancic, Alex Schaffer and Train Hinds rounded out the scoring for the Wolverines.

West Geauga will travel to Willoughby South on Saturday to take on the Rebels. The JV start time is set for 5:00 PM with Varsity to follow at 7pm.
